Having thick course curly hair jeez I sound a delight I have tried my fair share of hair masks. Because I dry my hair straight ish a lot of heat goes on to my hair from intense blow drying and straightening it at the front, I usually tie it up on the daily because I don't have the time to do anything with it. My hair can get damaged pretty easily even with a heat protector, I get quite a lot of split ends and it's just quite dry.

I use hair masks for this reason, I don't use thickening products at all cos it doesn't need to get any thicker than it already is! Most hair masks I use are reconstruction masks or for dry damaged hair etc. If i mention a hair mask to people I usually get what is that and does it work. I hadn't realised how many people don't use a hair mask, to be honest there probably is a lot who don't need to use a hair mask with their sleek straight hair oh how I envy you.

I thought I would do a little review with my thoughts on hair masks and if they work for my type of hair. Short answer is hell yeah they work! As I said before, I stick to hair masks for dry damaged hair as that's what kind of hair I have so I can't speak for anyone with different hair types. I would honestly dread to think what my hair would be like without a mask, it gives it soo much moisture and leaves it feeling super silky once dry. I only use a hair mask once a week and wash my hair 3 times a week which has helped so much too.

I haven't come across my favourite hair mask as yet, although I really enjoyed the Lee Stafford Hair Growth range, it actually worked really well for me and my hair did actually grow. I'm currently using the Toni & Guy intense reconstruction mask and it's left my hair super smooth and silky although aint nothing getting rid of these split ends!

If you have similar hair to mine I recommend using a hair mask once or twice a week and you will notice a huge difference! Even just brushing your hair when wet after having a hair mask on there are very little tugs and the brush goes through a lot smoother!

Let me know in the comments below if you use hair masks or what your favourite hair products are?
