The Best Setting Powder - Ben Nye

This could be one of the best setting powders I have used to date, I done a lot of research for a setting powder specifically for photography which wouldn't cause flashback or make you look white. Ben Nye Banana powder was up there with one of the best which make up artists use and I can say this is amazing.

With the powder being yellow in colour this helps to reduce any redness and pink undertones as well as blue circles under the eyes. It's a very light powder with a mattifying effect, although the powder is very fine so need to be carefully when opening as it does tend to go all over the place.

Ben Nye isn't as popular in the UK so it's not on a lot of the big beauty sites, I got mine from Amazon as I have a Prime account so may aswell get it from there. You can also get it from Cocktail Cosmetics and love-makeup for around £18 for 42g which is very reasonable and it will last you forever as you only need a little to go a long way.

I can confirm you get absolutely no flashback from this product and it ensures your make up lasts all day. If you have dry skin I would be a bit wary of using this or only in very small quantities as it can have a bit of a drying effect on the skin. My skin is normal / combination and worked well for me, I would imagine it would also work well for those with oily skin.
Let me know in the comments below if you have used this product?

  1. I know Makeup Revolution have released a sort of dupe for this which I am keen to try, I remember when the banana powder blew up (Kim K magic haha) and I have always wanted to see if it was worth the hype. Great review x

    1. Ohhh I didn't know makeup rev. have released one I must try it! x

  2. I tried this and it turned too yellow on my really pale skin. The only yellow based powder I find works on my pale skin is the NYX HD Banana Powder which works perfectly.

    1. I've not tried the Nyx one out, this one doesn't go to yellow on my skin but I have heard that it can on some skin tones x
