Festive Nutella Cupcake Recipe



Back again with some tasty cupcakes and this time I have a little festive twist to it with some Christmas sprinkles but best of all the icing is Nutella! These were an absolute joy to make but made my stomach grumble throughout because all I could smell was chocolate nutella galore!

You Will Need:

120g Plain Four (Sifted)
140 g Caster Sugar
1 1/s tsp Baking Powder
30g Cocoa Powder
40g Unsalted Butter at room temp.
120ml Whole milk
1 Large Egg
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Sprinkles
Butter Icing:

150g Unsalted Butter
300g Icing Sugart
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
200g Nutella
2-3 Tbs of Cream or Milk







How To Make:

1) Preheat oven to around 150c (I use a fan oven) and place cupcake cases into a muffin tray

2) Cream your butter in a mixer for 5 mins and then add in your sugar and mix until incorporated

3) Place your sifted flour, baking powder and Cocoa powder in until you get a sandy consistency, now gradually pour in half of the milk and mix until incorporated.

4) Add in your egg, vanilla extract and other half of milk and mix well

5) Spoon the mixture evenly into your cupcake cases and bake for around 10-12 mins

6) To make the butter icing cream your butter until pale and fluffy (usually takes 5-10 mins in a mixer) then add in your icing sugar and mix well until incorporated

7) now add in your nutella with 1 tbs of milk / cream and mix well. Use the rest of the milk or cream as needed, if icing is too hard add more milk.

8) Ensure cupcakes are completely cool before piping icing onto them. once icing has been piped on decorate with sprinkles as desired.
