Beauty | March Favourites

Hello Lovelies,
It's been a rather long time since I have done a favourites post, I've been quite boring to be honest and been using the same products for a while... until now! I thought I need to introduce some new products into my routine so i'm not stuck for 10 years still using the same products haha.

Cocoa Brown Tan First up is the Cocoa Brown 1 hour mousse and! This has become my absolute favourite tan, ever! The colour guide is soo good and it's impossible to get it wrong, you wont have any streaks with this at all! An in depth review will come shortly

L'Oreal True MatchI've been using my trust True Match again as this shade suits perfectly with my fake tan on. It's very lightweight and doesn't dry my skin out but still gives a medium - full coverage.
New Look Matte Liquid Lipstick
I've used this just about every single day for the last couple of months, read my full review here
Maybelline Lash Sensational MascaraThis has been my go to mascara for a while now, ever since I saw Zoella mention this on her channel I knew I had to try it out and have no regrets, this is the only mascara with a plastic wand that I get on with and love. Worth a try!

Garnier Micellar Water Oil-InfusedI saw this marked 'new' and was instantly intrigued just like anything which is marked new. This suits my skin SO much better than the original micellar water, it doesn't dry my skin out at all and it takes my make up off so much easier and better. You have to try this out :)

Baking | Creme Egg Brownies

Hello Lovelies,

Hope you are all having a lovely Easter break, I wish it was a long weekend every weekend!
Seeing as it is Easter I thought I would bake up some brownies and share them with you. This recipe can easily be changed by taking out the Crème Eggs and replacing with some of your other favourite chocolate.

Keep on reading to find out how I made these tasty treats.

You Will Need:

185g Unsalted Butter
185g Dark Chocolate, best to use higher quality
85g Plain Flour
40g Cocoa Powder
3 large eggs
275g Caster Sugar
6 Crème Eggs

To Make:
1) Pre-heat your oven to 160c and grease a 20cm square brownie tin

2) Melt the butter and dark chocolate together, careful not to burn

3) Whisk together the eggs and caster sugar until thick and frothy, best to use an electric mixer as this will be sore on the arms!

4) Pour the cooled chocolate mixture over the egg mixture and fold in.

5) fold the flour and cocoa powder into this mixture. Tip, ensure the flour and cocoa powder are sieved to avoid any lumps

6) Pour into the baking tin and cook for 15 - 20 mins until almost set.

7) remove from the oven and place halved cream eggs over the top of the brownie mix and place back into the oven for a further 5 - 10 mins.

8) Ensure you leave to cool before cutting into squares otherwise it will end up in a mess!

What do you think of my Crème Egg brownies? Did you do any baking? let me know in the comments below.

Beauty: You Beauty Box - March

Hello Lovelies,
I wanted to find a new beauty box subscription to subscribe to as I've done a few now but I quite like to change them up a bit as I can't afford to do them all at the same time *cries*. After reading many reviews, I decided to go with You Beauty Box as I like the fact you can choose 2 of the sample items you want to receive, it's also cheaper than other beauty boxes at £6.95 per month. Even better, it fits straight through your letter box so no running around trying to find out where your parcel has been left.

The items I chose to receive were the 'Bee Good Eye Cream' and 'Amie facial wash and moisturiser' which came as a duo. I also received the Charles Worthington Leave-In conditioner which I desperately need just now and 2 face masks were also included. I can't wait to try all these new goodies out.

My next beauty box on my list is BirchBox. What is your favourite subscription box? Let me know in the comments below.

Beauty | New Look Matte Liquid Lipsticks

Hello Lovelies,

New Look Make Up I hear you say? Yes, really. It's always the stand I notice but never actually look at as I am in there buying clothes, shoes or cute home wear bits and bobs. Never have I stopped at the make up stand and look at what they have to offer.

It wasn't until my mum was having a look that I went over and then spotted some matte liquid lipsticks, we all know I have a love for liquid lippies. Amazed, I instantly swatched them, the first one being 'Mink' on the right hand side. Oh my gosh it was instant love, the colour and texture was beautiful and dried quickly. I literally couldn't rub it off my hand, I knew I had to have it. Wore it for 1 day and went back for 'Sweet Rose' which I also had my eye on.

They have 6 shades on offer at £3.99 each, absolute bargain. The quality is really good, they can dry my lips slightly if I don't put some lip balm on beforehand but then that happens with all matte liquid lipsticks. The pigmentation is sooo good and super easy to apply. I can eat and drink without it wearing off and has lasted me a full day on plenty of occasions from 10am through to 4pm.

Swatch of Sweet Rose on the left and Mink on the right.

Have you ever tried anything from New Look's beauty range? Let me know in the comments below.

Baking | Chocolate Easter Cake

Hello Lovelies,
How nice is it to have lighter mornings and the evenings are starting to get a little longer, it's so nice walking to work in the morning and back in the evening and it still be light. It also means spring is on it's way which involves Easter and chocolate YUM!!

It's been a while since I've done an actually cake rather than cupcakes so I thought I would make this indulgent Easter cake surrounded by Kit-Kat's and topped with Mini Eggs.

You Will Need:

6 Large Eggs
350g Self-Raising Flour
350g Caster Sugar
350g Softened Butter (unsalted)
3 tsp Baking Powder
80g Cocoa Powder
8 tbsp boiling water
3 packs of Kit Kats
3-4 packs of Mini Eggs

300ml double cream
300g chocolate

How to make:1) Set your oven to 180C, Gas 4 and grease your cake tins

2) Beat together eggs, flour, caster sugar, butter and baking powder in a large bowl until smooth

3) Put the Cocoa powder in a separate mixing bowl and add the boiling water until it makes a stiff paste, then add to your cake mixture and mix well

4) Distribute evenly between 4 cake tins (or 2 at a time which is what I done) and bake for around 20-25mins

5) Leave to cool completely before icing

6) to make the icing simply heat the double cream and chocolate together until all melted either over the hob or in the microwave.

7) set aside to cool completely as it will also thicken up when it cools down, I popped mine in the fridge for 10 minutes. Then spread over every layer of your cake and on top and around the outside

8) start placing your kit kats around the edge and scattering the mini eggs on top, tie it together with a cute Easter ribbon

What do you think of this cake? let me know in the comments below x

Lifestyle: Beating the Monday Blues

Hello Lovelies,

I am feeling pretty good today for a Monday(!) why am I feeling so good for a Monday? Well, I forced myself to not dread that first day back to work. Easier said than done I know but last night I thought to myself, I'm sick of the dreaded Sunday night thoughts of going back to work tomorrow.

Instead, I planned out in my mind as to what I would do so I visually went through my wardrobe in my head and picked out what I would wear rather than the panic in the mornings. I then decided what I would have for my breakfast, which was a slimfast shake - quick, easy and on the go.

I took fruit in to work with me, put aside my usual Breakfast Tea and got Peppermint tea instead. Made sure I bought my water intake for the day and drank it all.

On my way home from work I planned out on the notes on my phone what exercise plan I would do and I wouldn't put the TV on or sit on the couch when I got in, although I am sat at my desk writing this right now teehee. Not only do I want to lose weight but I want to have a healthy mind, healthy body and healthy habits. Today is the day!!

Of course I am going to have some little treats too otherwise all day every day would be dull, who wants that?! So I have some cheeky wee galaxy choccies waiting for me once I have done my exercises.

Just changing little things, planning ahead and thinking positive really does change your whole mood and outlook to those dreaded Monday mornings!

What do you do to beat those Monday blues? Let me know in the comments below
