Lifestyle | Barkbeats Subscription Box

This is a subscription box both myself and my dog have been looking forward to receiving.

Yesterday, there was a knock at the door to which Daisy woofed her head off! Open the door, here is the postie standing with Daisy's Barkbeats box - I almost snatched it out his hands with excitement. Upon opening the box I spotted the cute wrapping paper and instantly loved it. Carefully taking it apart I looked inside to see what goodies were awaiting us....

There was a plastic moustache, Daisy didn't quite manage to carry it the correct way but enjoyed her style of playing with it all the same. Some sweet potato chews, liver training treats and a croissant.... yes, a croissant! It looks exactly the same as the ones I would have for breakfast. Finally, a squeaky tennis ball, Daisy's favourite out of the whole box. She has not put this down since laying her little eyes on it, here she is below mid - play with her new best friend.

If you would like one of these amazing Barkbeats boxes for your pooch, head on over to http://barkbeats.co.uk
It costs £19 for 1 month, £14 per month for 6 months or £13 per month for 12 months. They are also doing an offer on £5 off your first box with the code: Bark5

Boots Haul...

It's been a while since I've done a Boots haul so as I picked up quite a few items I thought I would share what I got as most items I have never tried before so am excited to know if any of my fellow bloggers have tried out these items - Let me know in the comments :)

I picked up my usual Garnier Micellar water, enough said, and after trying out some items from the Simple skincare range which I fell in love with, I decided to pick up a couple more items that being cleansing lotion and a face mask.

Now on to my fave... make up!!! There were so many offers on I just had to take good use of them. Maybelline had 3 for 2 so I picked up my usual Falsies Mascara, Brow Drama, Matte Eyeliner, a lip liner and 2 lipsticks (pictured below). Collection also had an offer on with everything being £4 or under. I picked up their foundation as I love the concealer so much I wanted to give this a go too, I also picked up a bronzer, I mean you can never have too many bronzers, right?

Pictured above are the 2 lipsticks I picked up in a matte formula, the first one is a really nice everyday nude shade which is similar to Velvet Teddy and a berry shade which is going to be amazing for autumn.

Have you tried out any of these items? Let me know in the comments below

My Top 5 Drugstore Make Up

I always love seeing these posts as it gives me so many more ideas to try out new products (and spend more money!) So I thought I would share my top 5 drugstore products in the hope it may help some of my fellow bloggers!

Make Up Revolution Iconic 1 palette

This is based on the Lorac eye palettes as a dupe, I've never used the Lorac palette so can't say if it's a good dupe or not. The quality is certainly very good for the price, £ if I use this with an eye primer my shadow will definitely last all day. I've been using this palette everyday for about a month now and love it.

L'Oreal True Match Blush

This is in the shade - 105 Rose Pastel which is such a pretty pale pink that suits my pale complexion but also looks good after a bit of good old fake tan.

Maybelline Falsies Mascara

I have been using this for years and is by far my favourite drugstore mascara. Does what it says on the tin, or the tube, makes your lashes look like falsies!

Revlon Colourstay Foundation

I looove this foundation, I bought it in the formula for oily skin and it has worked wonders at keeping any shine at bay. You can read my full review here

L'Oreal Lipstick

This is in the shade 303 Rose tender which matches the blush perfectly, my fave combo. I always reach for this lipstick when im in a rush or not sure what to do as its such a subtle shade and easy to apply with its creamy texture. Highly recommend these lipsticks.

Revlon Colourstay: Buff

I think I have found my perfect drugstore foundation.... Yes that is a big claim to make.

As you are all probably aware I rave about true match all the time but lately my skin has been getting slightly oily so I wanted to try a foundation that is specifically for oily skin. After reading many reviews I picked up the Revlon Colourstay for oily skin in the shade Buff.

Colourstay makes my skin look flawless and I get zero shine, even at the end of a long day in the office. This is a velvet matte finish which doesn't look cakey, I always spritz a setting spray on afterwards to stop it going too powdery looking.

This claims to last 24hrs - I've not tried that out, I mean who would wear make up for 24hrs?! The longest I've had it on is 14hrs which is a long time and it still looks amazing at the end of the 14hrs, yes it needs touched up here and there where I've been touching my face throughout the day but nothing drastic.

Revlon Colorstay has spf15, is a medium - full coverage and has 13 shades in it's collection each being 30ml for a cost of £12.99

Have you tried this foundation? let me know other foundations which are good for oily skin in the comments below :)

High End or Drugstore: Matte Liquid Lipsticks

This is my first time trying out matte liquid lipsticks, I've got plenty matte lipsticks but never tried the liquid matte lipsticks.

I decided I would get a high end and a drugstore lipstick to try out and see what the difference in quality is like.

Let's start off with Drugstore, I went for the Nyx soft matte lip cream in the shade Tokyo. This is a light pink but still fairly bright, the formula is creamy as it says on the 'tin' it goes on very smoothly and dries fairly quick. Because of it's creamy formula it's not drying on the lips at all but on the flip side it does transfer a little bit so something to keep in mind. For me this was just too pink, if it was in a different shade I think I would really love it. At £7 it is a really great price and affordable to buy other colours to try out. I would give this a 7/10

Now for High End, Stila liquid lipstick in the shade Bellissima. This is a pinky coral shade and applies really good, you do get quite a lot of product on the sponge so need to wipe some off first. I have also found this to be a bit more drying on the lips so if you have dry lips you will definitely need to exfoliate them first to get rid of any flakiness. I do like how this mattifies a lot more than Nyx although I don't think I would be able to wear it for as long due to the dry texture. The staying power of this is amazing - you need to rub pretty hard to get this stuff off. At £15 this is a lot more pricier than Nyx. I'd give this 8/10

All in all I think both are great and I would repurchase both of them.

August Favourites

Well August is over just like that - what a quick month, as has every month this year been I feel!
I've had a few favourites I have been using throughout August so thought I'd share them with you all as it's been a while.

1) Nyx Matte Setting Spray - this has to be one of the best setting spray's I have ever used, I choose this over the likes of Skindinavia and Urban Decay. This holds my make up for hours and stops my skin going oily - highly recommend if you like a matte finish.

2) Viktor & Rolf Bon Bon - Ugghh if you have never smelt this go into your nearest department store or Boots and give it a sniff - a.ma.zing. Used this every day throughout Aug, I should really calm down and use it less as it is a bit pricey. I just cant help myself

3) Primark Vanilla & Coconut Candle - My gosh, it really does show you that sometimes price isn't everything - I always used 'better quality' candles as I thought they would last longer, have a stronger scent etc. For 99p the quality is just as good as Yankee Candle, in my opinion. Ok, the packaging isn't luxurious but its the product inside that counts right?!

4) Mac Lipstick Crème Cup This is a lovely pink nude great for everyday wear - I think this is by far one of my most loved lipsticks at the moment

5) Nyx HD Setting Powder - After trying out some Nyx products I was very impressed with them so decided to give their HD powder a go and I'm not disappointed. This held my make up in place all day and night for a wedding I went to, it does feel slightly dry on the skin when first putting on but the feeling soon wears off and made my make up look amazing. Can't wait to continue using this powder!

Have you tried any of these products? What's were your faves in Aug?
