3 step 'Simple' skincare routine

Looking for a 'Simple' skincare routine? Look no further....

I took the opportunity to pick up some items from the Simple range whilst they were half price in Boots - I really wish I bought more now!

I decided to pick up the Micellar Water, Toner and Moisturiser as these are the 3 basics I use on a daily basis so thought I'd test them out. I loved them all right from the get go but wouldn't be a good blogger if I instantly put up a review! These things take time... and after 1.5 months of using these items I still love them as much as I did on day 1.

Garnier Micellar water was my holy grail - yes, was! I love this much more - sorry Garnier! I just feel this comes out the bottle a lot more controlled so am not wasting a lot of product, it takes my make up off exactly the same as Garnier but just makes my skin feel that little bit better.

Next step is toner, now I have to admit I am fairly new to toner. I know I know, I should be using this a lot more often. I have to admit though, I still very occasionally skip this part if I'm being very lazy but boy can I tell the days I do skip this! My skin feels a little duller and can be a bit dry too when I've not used this toner - Need to stop those lazy days!

Last step, moisturiser - I've used this at night numerous times but I much prefer a thicker cream for night time, I mainly use this in the mornings before applying my make up and works perfectly. It's a light moisturiser so it's not sticky or too oily which is what I need for the mornings as I don't have time before work to wait ages for a moisturiser to sink in before applying my make up
I will certainly re-purchase all of these products as they are good quality with a purse friendly price, even better when they are half price!

Have you tried out this range before? What are your thoughts?

Soap & Glory Mother Pucker Gloss Stick

Looking for a subtle sheen of colour topped with a glossy finish? Look no further as you have now found the perfect product!
The packaging is very sleek, fun and bold with the product being a chunky crayon. This is SO easy to use it just glides on with ease. The colour pay off is really good, it's subtle but still bold enough to see that you have colour on your lips. I'm guessing you could team this with a lip liner or use over a matte lipstick to get a bolder colour if you wish.

There are 5 shades available in this range, I have 'Nudist' and 'Bashful'. Nudist is just a really nice light - medium nude for pale skin, I feel it would look amazing on darker skin tones too. Bashful is a gorgeous every day pink and very subtle, I have teamed this with a matte pink lipstick and it looked so good!

These retail for £8 each which I would say is a fair price as they will certainly last a loooong time. As they are a gloss and creamy formula the staying power isn't great, you will need to top up. They do last longer if you have a matte lippy on underneath them though so try that out.

Have you tried out these glosses? What is your fave product from Soap & Glory?

Sunday Funday: Creative Colouring

After seeing so many adult colouring books on Twitter and Instagram I just knew I had to jump on the bandwagon. I loved colouring when I was a little girl, my mum told me I was obsessed with it haha! Once again, I am back into my obsession.

I bought this book from HobbyCraft for around £10 - you can get them a lot cheaper on amazon for around £3 or £4. The book I got was 'the can't sleep colouring book' I can say it certainly works as I have been using this in my bed at night time and it certainly makes me drift off to sleep.

Have you tried any of these books? I definitely recommend them!

Primark Finds

Hands up who loves Primark?! It's one of my favourite things to do, is just look at all the cute little things they have. So, with that being said I thought I would share what cuteness I picked up lol!

- Outfit Of The Day Tee

This is such a cute oversized tee that you can throw on with any type of jean or you could also buy it in a bigger size and wear with leggings?

- Vanilla & Coconut Candles

Ahhh I can't express enough how much I love these candles, they are seriously amazing. They have such a good quality scent, there is no way you would think they were just £1 each! My room smells amazing when these candles are burning. I really wasn't expecting much due to the price, how wrong was I. They are fairly small so don't last too long but I believe they do a big jar like the large YC size for around £5 - I need to find one!

- Black Ankle Boots

Can I just say, these were only £12! Just £12! Unbelievable. I have went and bought them in tan and grey too since they are so good. I've been wearing them with jeans or a long top and leggings at the moment, you could wear them with a nice pair of denim shorts when the sun is out. I'm definitely going to team them with a denim dress and tights in the winter.

- Antibacterial Hand Gels

I picked these up as I'm somewhat addicted to sanitising my hands all of the time - germaphobe! I always have one at my desk, in my bag, in the car and some at home. Primark do some really cute hand gels and at a £1 you really can't complain. My fave is Soap & Glory and I'd say these are just as good - saving you £1.50 :)

What do you think of my little Primark finds? Can you count how many times I said cute lol x

Sunday Funday: Pretty Cupcakes

I did again, on a roll baking cupcakes but I need to stop as I'm going to put on so much weight 'taste testing' them all haha.
Today we have some pretty vanilla confetti cupcakes - yummmeee! Read on to find out how I made these.

Cupcake Ingredients:
150g Marg or Butter (I use Stork)
170g Caster Sugar
170g Self-Raising Flour
3 medium eggs

2tsps Vanilla Extract

Buttercream Ingredients:
140g butter (again, I just used stork)
225g Icing Sugar
confetti sprinkles for decoration ( you can even add them through the sponge)

1) Pre-heat oven to 200 / Gas 6. Line a muffin tin with your chosen cases (you will need about 10-12)

2) Mix together butter and sugar until sugar has all melted in
3) In a separate jug crack 3 eggs and lightly whisk

4) Gradually fold in eggs and flour (sifted) to the sugar and butter mixture, then add the vanilla extract
5) Spoon the mixture into cupcake cases evenly and bake for 10 - 15 mins, turning half way through.

6) Leave to cool and make your buttercream icing

7) In a bowl, cream butter and sieve in icing sugar until smooth and lump free, add in your cream and mix until all combined. You can add more icing sugar to thicken if the mixture goes too runny
8) Pipe onto cupcakes and top with a strawberry then a little dusting of icing sugar

What do you think of these cupcakes? Sometimes plain can be best at times :)
