High End Make Up Haul

Oh my gosh I am so excited to write up this post as it is my first ever high end haul. I was lucky enough to receive birthday money so used all of it on make up! I did buy the Sigma brushes myself though :)

Where do I begin... I decided to invest in good quality brushes so went for the Sigma premium set, the only reason I bought a whole set is because I am starting up make up artistry so will need a set for working on clients and I think this will be perfect :)

The Anastasia Beverly hills contour kit has been on my 'want' list for ages now and I finally got around to purchasing it - full review will come.

Again, this has been on my wishlist for some time now and is my first ever Nars product! what?! I bought this in the shade Chantilly because I'm so pale!

Ahhh Ruby Woo! Need I say no more. Swatches etc will come :)

I also picked up the Skindinavia setting spray, a new beauty blender and a Mac blush in the shade 'peaches'.

I can not wait to try out my new goodies and let all my fellow bloggers know what I think of them :)

Let me know if you have tried anything in this haul, would love to know your thoughts.

Sunday Funday: Aero Bubble Cupcakes

It has been a while since I have baked some cupcakes so thought I would make some of these yummy mint Aero Bubble cupcakes. Keep reading for the recipe :)

Cupcake Ingredients:
150g Marg or Butter (I use Stork)
170g Caster Sugar
170g Self-Raising Flour
3 medium eggs

Vanilla ExtractSharing bag of Aero bubbles (leaving enough to decorate)

Buttercream Ingredients:

140g butter (again, I just used stork)
225g Icing Sugar

Recipe:

1) Pre-heat oven to 200 / Gas 6. Line a muffin tin with your chosen cases (you will need about 10-12)

2) Mix together butter and sugar until sugar has all melted in

3) In a separate jug crack 3 eggs and lightly whisk

4) Gradually fold in eggs and flour (sifted) to the sugar and butter mixture & add in a teaspoon of vanilla extract and Aero bubbles
5) Spoon the mixture into cupcake cases evenly and bake for 10 - 15 mins, turning half way through.

6) Leave to cool and make your buttercream icing

7) In a bowl, cream butter and sieve in icing sugar until smooth and lump free, pipe onto the cupcakes.

What would your favourite kind of cupcake be?

Estee Lauder Double Wear

After lusting over Double Wear for what felt like eternity, I decided to put this on my birthday wishlist and am now the proud owner of 1C1 Cool Bone.

Oh.My.Gosh, is there such a thing as love at first sight with a foundation haha? The frosted glass bottle makes it feel super luxurious and well the product inside is just amazing.
It is a runny consistency yet still feels thick, this would definitely benefit from a pump as I usually pour too much out. This applies beautifully and I find it's easy to blend, has a full coverage and dries fairly quick so need to work fast if you are doing 2 layers as it starts to get more tricky to blend due to that factor.

I have heard this can cling to dry patches and I can totally tell why, although this has not happened to me I can feel it having a dry tight feeling on my skin (although it doesn't look dry). You will need to make sure you moisturise well if you have dry skin before using this.
This will set you back £29.50 so not cheap but I think it's totally worth the money due to the quality of it. Huge thumbs up from me <3
Have you used Double Wear? What's your favourite foundation? Let me know in the comments.

Sunday's Sundae #2

My last 'Sundae on a Sunday' went down quite well and after asking what your favourite kind of Sundae was you all loved chocolate. I love chocolate so thought I would make another!

This time I used vanilla and chocolate ice cream, chocolate sauce, marshmallows and chocolate buttons topped with a chocolate mini roll from M&S. YUM!

You could totally go to town on this by adding maltesers, topping it with some cream and adding a twix to it too perhaps? Oh my, I want to eat this all over again!

What do you think of this Sundae? How would you make yours?

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of trying out new mascara's and am always on the hunt for the latest release.

Even though this mascara has been out a while I decided I would jump on the bandwagon and give it a go as it gets raving reviews. The first thing I noticed about this was the cute packaging, it's very simplistic but sophisticated (if you ignore the name of it).

Upon using this mascara I was excited by the wand first of all, I do like a full brush wand as I feel this gives the best thickness to your lashes. This was no exception, it applies beautifully and you can build up the coats pretty well without clumping.

I was totally hooked when I used this.... until I noticed fallout and transfer to my upper lash/brow bone. I was so disappointed, I decided I would ensure I definitely set my foundation properly next time but the same thing happened. I've used this a good 6/8 times now and each time I get fallout and transfer. I am gutted as it truly is amazing apart from this factor.

At £19 I wouldn't expect this to happen.

Let me know if you have used this and what your thoughts are?

Sunday Funday: Strawberry & Cream Pancakes

Who doesn't love a pancake? Especially paired with something as yummy as strawberries and cream!

This is such a yummy snack, breakfast or desert - you can really make this for any time of the day and mix it up with your favourite fruit or sauce. You could even make this savoury with some bacon and eggs.

I actually didn't make these pancakes, as I am totally rubbish at them. I paired these pancakes with some toffee sauce, scattered delicious strawberries over and finished it off with some cream.

What do you think of this? is this something you would make?

My Birthday Wishlist

So it's my birthday next Friday, 12th June - eeek! I will be turning 26, jeez that sounds old haha. I'm finding the older I get the less I want / need. If I really want something I usually just go and buy it myself so when I get asked the dreaded question 'what do you want for your birthday' I never really know what I want.
I decided I would sit down and have a think on what I'm planning to buy myself so perhaps I can ask for some as birthday presents instead :)
Estee Lauder Double Wear My mum has actually bought me this and am using it early - naughty! It was so hard to resist though, it's amazing! Full post to come
Nars Creamy ConcealerI read so many reviews on this I would just love to try this out. I don't own any Nars products at all :O and I call myself a blogger, tut tut.
Flamingo CandlesAgain, I read so many reviews on these and am a candle addict so would love to try these beauts out

MAC LipsticksI only own 3 Mac lipsticks and there are so many shades I would love so having some more is definitely on my wish list
Toast Dish from Debenhams
Yes I am showing my age now, I love cute and unique home wear, especially dishes / glasses etc.. so when I saw this cute little plate in the shape of a slice of toast I just knew this was going on my list.

Have you got any of these items? Let me know in the comments below.

Lily-Flame Fairy Dust

I think this is the first time I have ever done a review on a candle and this is well worth putting up on my blog. I had read loads of reviews on the Lily-Flame range and just knew I had to pick one up, so after long debate I picked up Fairy Dust purely because of the tin and name! I had no idea what it smelt like as I ordered online so was a little nervous to receive it.
I needn't have worried though, this smells amazing. Seriously. buy it now-haha :)
This has a sweet powdery scent but is not overpowering, it just smells sooo good and you smell it instantly upon lighting. I had mine burning for around 4hrs and it's hardly gone down at all so I know it's going to last me a while. Yay!

These candles are amazingly priced to at £8.50 each I find this a total bargain as they are as good, or better, than Yankee Candle - Sorry YC!
You really do have to check out the Lily-Flame range, you wont be disappointed.
Have you tried them out as yet? what are your thoughts?
