Fashion | NYE Party Dresses with Warehouse

So New Year is coming up fast so I thought I would pick my top fave NYE dresses from Warehouse, they always have some really cute dresses in and a lot of them caught my eye this year.
Unfortunately I'm not doing anything for New Year as me and the hubs are going to London for his 30th in January so I'm saving my pennies for that.

The first dress to the left is a black embellished neck swing dress for £45 in the sale which you can find here
Next up is my fave which is a black beaded for £80 which you can snap up here
This bead and sequin dress is another beaut and a bit more of a loose fit to hide that Christmas Belly! A bargain at £50, get it here
This Blue / Grey Dress is another looser fit with a cute sequin collar for £50 you can find it here
What are you wearing for NYE this year? Let me know in the comments below

Lifestyle | What I got for Christmas

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas with family and friends and ate far too much... I certainly did!
As with all of these kind of posts a quick disclaimer that I am in no way trying to brag about what I received for Christmas, I genuinely love seeing what everyone else got and I didn't do this last year as I was a bit nervous about it so thought I'd share this year :)

One of my most loved gifts is my Kenwood mixer from my mum & dad, you all know I love baking and this has definitely upped my baking game. My sponge and icing are noticeably better since using this beaut. I got it early cos my mum knows how much I love to bake hehe plus she gets to taste the goods so we all win here! :)

The hubs done extremely well this year and got me a gorgeous Michael Kors bracelet (pictured below) 2 perfumes, candles, chocolates and a photography book :)

I also got my Mulberry purse from mum & Dad and more chocolates, candles, baking goodies, smellies, earrings, adult colouring book, notebook and scarf from other family members.

My mother in law also got me a ticket to go see Billy Elliott next year with the fam so I am super excited for that!
What did you all do for Christmas? Link your posts in the comments below x

Lifestyle | My Christmas Eve Routine

So my Christmas Eve Routine is more or less the same every year. I think I love Christmas Eve more than Christmas Day a little bit, I love the excitement and cosy night relaxing in advance of the big day itself.
I usually spend Christmas Eve running around doing last minute shopping which I have forgot about and wrapping up the last of my presents. After a busy old day I love to run  myself a bath and pop in my favourite Lush bath bomb - Luxury Xmas Pud! I will soak for about half an hour or so listening to some music.

Once I'm all warm from my bath I take my new PJs off the hot radiator and pop them on then me and my husband will settle down for the evening and watch The Grinch, I have to watch this every Christmas Eve before bed, I have done it since I was about 10 so have now forced my husband into the routine lol.

I then head to bed with a hot chocolate and some treats and read The Broons or Oor Wullie, if you are Scottish you will know what this is. I have also done this since I was very very young so I love to continue my little tradition as it gives me so many butterflies in my stomach.
Do you have any Xmas Eve traditions? Let me know in the comments below.

Beauty | Get Up & Glow with Barry M

I do love a palette, especially when it is free, yes, free! Ok ok I did have to spend £9 in order to get this free but I did really want it anyway and at £6.49 I didn't really need to spend that much more in order to get this beaut.
I bought a new lipgloss, concealer and gold glitter eyeliner then popped this in for zero cost at all.

I love the fact that I can travel with this and still have a choice of mixing up my make up a little, I can take this and not have to take any eyeshadow palettes either as I just use the bronzer in my crease and use the highlight in the inner corner and we're done!

This palette comes with a choice of 3 blushes, a peachy colour, a deeper pink and a light baby pink.

You can see all the swatches below, the light baby pink does need to be applied heavier than the other shades to get a nice pay off but I do have fair skin so that is to be expected. The bronzer isn't too dark so if you are looking for a dark bronzer it's not really the one. The highlighter is amazing though and would suit so many different skin tones I just love it!

What do you think of this palette? Let me know in the comments below.

Blogmas Day 9 | Melting Snowmen

I've seen these cute melting snowmen all over my pinterest and wanted to give them a go as they look super easy to make and most of all they are super festive!

All you need is some Digestive biscuits, marshmallows, mini oreos, icing sugar, black icing and something orange to use as a nose!
First things first, make your icing by simply adding water to icing sugar and make it fairly thick but still runny, you don't want it to be dripping all over the biscuit and making a mess everywhere.
Spread the icing onto your biscuit and place your marshmallow on the edge. wait for it to set for 5 - 10 mins then draw / pipe on your eyes and mouth to the marshmallow then add the arms and buttons to the 'melted body' add on the nose and top off with a mini oreo as a wee hat.
So simple and easy, I think this would be really fun to make with children as they will be able to get involved really easily.

What do you think of my festive biscuits?

Blogmas Day 5 | Christmas Drink Ideas

This is my favourite time of the year for festive drinks, Starbucks and Costa always bring out some delicious ones! If you are on a budget they can be pretty expensive so why not try to make your own?

Hot Chocolate is a favourite of mine especially Cadbury's, you can add whipped cream and some marshmallows to the top to make it that bit extra indulgent. Even pop in a candy cane for some cute decoration?

Nutella Hot Chocolate - super easy to make, all you need to do is heat up Nutella and Milk together in a pan and there you have it!

Festive Latte's - Heat up some milk add in a flavoured coffee or even plain coffee and add in some cinnamon to flavour it!

For all you tea lovers out there you can make a brew as you usually would and mix in some cinnamon or nutmeg to make it feel all Christmasy.

There are so many twists you could do to hot chocolate or latte's, you could heat up some caramel and add it in, peppermint flavouring for a peppermint hot chocolate YUM. By topping off a standard hot chocolate or latte with cream and placing some mini cookies on the top or adding a twix in to let it melt a little.

I'm looking forward to changing up my drinks this Christmas.

What is your favourite hot drink at this time of year?

Blogmas Day 1 | Oh Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree

It's the 1st of December!!! As you can tell from the title of this post I will be doing Blogmas this year Yayy - I'm super excited about it but also very nervous as I've never done it before.

I thought I would start December off with my Christmas tree, for years I have wanted to get a White Christmas tree and as my house is practically white now I thought it would be very fitting. My husband didn't want the White tree but I went out and got it anyway haha.

I got my tree from The Range of all places, I thought the range may not have many decent things but I was SO wrong and it's now my fav place to go, bank balance please don't hate me too much. They had lots of lovely trees to suit all budgets. I got mine for £50 which I think is pretty good as it is a decent tree with full branches.

I decorated with silver and white tinsel, white snowflakes and glitter baubles with some fluffy animal decorations. To add a little colour to the tree I popped on some pink and white candy canes.

The only thing I really don't like about the tree is the lights, I want lights that are on a white rope (or whatever you call it) if you know where I can get some let me know in the comments below.

Lifestyle | Things that make me happy

I have to admit, this is a spur of the moment post as I was having a bit of a sad moment, sometimes reading the news or social media can just bring you down a lot and after reading upsetting stories I had to try and get things off my mind so thought I would write a post of things that make me happy.

First and foremost is my puppydog Daisy although she aint much of a pup no more, she is growing to be a big girl now at the grand age of 7. I mean just look at the cuteness how could she not make you happy?! seriously
Make up - in particular, lipsticks and MAC lipsticks at that, so far I have 8 to my mini collection and I can not wait to purchase more I have so many on my list that I want I feel I may go bankrupt haha
Baking - you guys know I looovvee to bake! These are the Tanya Burr cookies I made and let me tell you they are deeelicious. Highly recommend.
I love to have a bath especially when lush goodies are involved, this makes me so relaxed and I just watch Youtube or listen to some nice relaxing music with candles lit all around.
And the thing I probably do the most is chilling out in bed writing blog posts, watching videos, reading recipes with a box of chocolates! At this time of year I have the electric blanket on and a wee cup of tea since it is so cold in Scotland. *can you see daisy dog in the background*

So that's it for this post, I have to say I do feel a bit better now as it's taken my mind off things. I'm off to have a bath and then hop into bed with some chocolate seeing as that makes me happy :)

Let me know in the comments below what makes you happy?

Lifestyle | Primark Finds

Oh I do love a trip to Primark, I have recently been in love with their homewear range as it's good quality and at a great price. On Friday me and the hubs went for a trip into town and as always Primark is a must.

I picked up the cutest Minnie Mouse make up bag, a cute pink candle which matches my décor perfectly the scent isn't the nicest to be quite honest but I really chose it for decoration over the other candles.

I bought this new white duvet cover, this is my second one as I love it so much - it has to be the best duvet cover I have ever purchased and it was only £22 for a King Size!
On the end of my bed is the fluffiest pink throw I have ever felt, it's a very pale pink which is quite hard to tell from this picture but it's amazing and I think it was only £8 !

Can we just take a moment to look at how adorable this cushion is - I love the little quote and better yet it was only a fiver, yes really!!

And last but no means least, these festive scented candles - they are spicy sweet Christmas smell and I can tell they will just be amazing when lit but I'm saving them for Christmas! £1 each, can't go wrong with that!
Who else loves a Primark haul? Let me know in the comments below

Beauty | Nars Sheer Glow

I am delighted to be blogging about this Nars Sheer Glow Foundation as it has been on my wishlist for some time now. My friend actually gave me this as she didn't like the formula of it so I was quick to snap it up :)

I.Love.This - it makes my skin look flawless and lasts all day with zero shine. One of the best foundations I have ever used I just wish I purchased it sooner. This is in the shade Deauville so I need a slight tan to wear this (yes I am white), I really want to purchase it in a lighter shade so I can wear it all the time.

Nars Sheer Glow is definitely buildable I can get quite a good full coverage with this teamed with a high coverage concealer and works perfectly. I've only ever applied this with a damp beauty blender and it works so perfect I haven't even tried it with different brushes.

For £31 it is quite pricey but it is most definitely worth it and a little goes a long way so it will certainly last you a while. I didn't think I would ever shift from my L'Oreal True Match but this is definitely a staple now.

Have you tried this foundation out? Would you spend this amount? Let me know in the comments below.

Beauty | Seventeen Pink Bronze Shimmer Brick

It's no secret that I have been lusting over the Bobbi Brown Shimmer brick for what seems like eternity. I've just not been able to justify the price tag and had other highlighters to try out first so have never got around to purchasing, maybe I can get it for Christmas....

Anyway, I was walking around Boots and as usual look at all the make up whilst I'm there and the Seventeen Shimmer Brick caught my eye, purely because it looks similar to the Bobbi Brown one so I knew I could not leave without it.
I have been using the top 2 shades for the inner corner of my eye and highlighting my brown bone, they are amazing for this! For highlighting my cheekbones however I don't see much shimmer or glow, I do still need to try out using different brushes with this so am hoping this will help a lot.
At a cost of £4.99 I think this is fantastic value and a fraction of the price of Bobbi Brown! I have the shade Pink Bronze but they also do a Gold Bronze shade too which I might pick up and try out.

What is your favourite highlighting product? Let me know in the comments below.

My Blogs 1st Birthday!!

Well well well, it's my blogs 1st birthday! I still can not believe I have stuck to this for 1 year so what better way to celebrate with a giant cupcake. Don't worry I wont be eating this all to myself haha.

What have I achieved in 1 year? 478 followers on Bloglovin, 1,079 followers on Twitter and 500 followers on Instagram, now this is not a lot to many of you but for me it is a huge achievement I mean I didn't for one second think anyone would read my content never mind follow me.
I do however feel I could have put a lot more effort into my blog over the past few months but due to other things going on I haven't been able to devote my full attention. I really do feel like the upcoming Christmas spirit will bring a lot more enthusiasm and a lot more exciting posts.
I would just like to thank each and everyone of you who follow me, read my blog and most of all leave a comment. I do love reading comments on my blog and hearing what you are loving too.
Thank you once again, I am going to enjoy some of my yummy cake now! :)

Beauty | Stila Liquid Lipstick

Ahh, it all started with 1 and now I have quickly got 3 in my collection. I am obsessed with these Stila liquid lipsticks I already have my eye on more!

These have a creamy matte finish which are full coverage and long wearing, enriched with vitamin E and avocado oil which hydrates and softens the lips. Stila Liquid Lipsticks retail at £15.00 which I think is a very reasonable price considering the quality of them.

The shades I have so far Aria, Bellissima and Patina.
Aria is a deep berry like shade with purple tones through it, perfect for Autumn. Bellissima is a pale nude coral shade, this can go quite patchy if not applied correctly. Patina which is my current fave is a pink/mauve shade which is just great for everyday wear with any make up look.

I would thoroughly recommend these liquid lipsticks, they may be a bit pricey for some but they will last you ages as you don't need to use a lot of product at all.
What is your favourite liquid lipsticks? Let me know in the comments below.

Beauty | Mac Creme Cup

I love Mac lipsticks and now have 8 in my mini collection, I really want to get a load more - Santa?!

Crème Cup is my latest Mac lippies and oh my gosh it is just perfect! It's a pale pink shade which will go with just about any make up look and so easy to wear every day. The formulation of this is Cremesheen so very moisturising on the lips, I'm finding this really good now that the colder months are setting in as my lips tend to get dry.

I purchased this from Debenhams as I can collect in their store at my own convenience, at a cost of £15.50 I find they are very reasonably priced considering the quality of them.

I can't wait to buy more shades, what is your fav Mac lippy? Let me know in the comments below.

Beauty | NYX HD Finishing Powder

After reading and watching some amazing reviews on HD setting powders I knew I wanted to try them out. I recently went to a wedding so decided I would make the purchase as I wanted my make up to look as professional as possible and also last all day and night.
Let's just say I needed zero touch ups wearing this HD powder..
This Nyx HD powder cost me £10 for 6g from Very, you can order from Nyx direct or amazon...
You may think 6g isn't that much but trust me, a little goes a long way with this magical powder.

You can lightly dust over your face with a face brush or you can use your beauty blender, which is how I used it. Upon applying it does make your skin feel slightly tight to start with but that soon wears off. As this is a matte finish and has that drying feeling upon first using I would probably suggest this isn't good for dry skin, if you have normal or oily skin this would be perfect for you.
Have you used HD powders before? Leave me recommendations in the comments below.

Lifestyle | Cute Homewear Finds...

What a surprise, I done some shopping again! I just can't help myself, especially when it comes to home wear - I am obsessed!

I picked up some super cute items recently which I think some of my readers may also like, not that I'm encouraging you to shop ;)
I picked up the above candle from H&M home, I must admit it was purely because it was white, the fact that it smells amazing is an added bonus. I recommend having a nosey at H&M Home, they have so many cute little items.

The above is a cute star tea light holder, again it is white you can see a theme here?! This was just £8 from Next which I think is very reasonably priced. I could have gone mad in there and bought everything but I somehow managed to refrain myself and just buy this :) I'm saving myself for their Christmas décor.

N'awwww how cute is this little bunny! This is from H&M home in the kids section, yes I am still 5! I couldn't resist it matches my whole bedroom and just looks super cute sat in the middle of my bed. Need I say more.

Lastly, I picked up these oven mitts from Lidl of all places, I was in doing a little shop for their chocolate, naughty hehe! when I heard these wee things call my name. They were the last pair left so I had to pick them up, they now take pride place in my kitchen!
Do you love a home wear shop? Let me know in the comments below.

Milkystar Cheesecake

I do love cheesecake, especially when it's homemade! As winter is coming I thought I would make my last cheesecake of the year. Read on if you would like to make this :)

100g Digestive biscuits
25g butter
200g Philadelphia
75g Icing Sugar
100ml Double Cream
2 tsps. vanilla extract
1 Sharing pouch of milkystars

* This will make 2 or 3 small cheesecakes per above picture

1) Crush digestives into fine crumbs, melt butter in a pan then add the digestives and stir until fully combined

2) Press the digestives into your chosen tin (I bought my love heart shape tins from B&Ms) and place in the freezer for 5 minutes to set

3) Beat the Philadelphia and Icing Sugar together until smooth

4) Whisk double cream until thick and fold into the Philadelphia mixture. Once all folded in, add half of the milkystars in and gently mix through

5) Pour filling onto the digestive base and place in the fridge to set for 3+ hours

6) Once set you can go ahead and decorate with your left over milkystars and serve

Does anyone else love a bit of cheesecake? This has to be my favourite so far :D
