Xen-Tan Light/Medium Review

Hey Everyone,
I have only used this Xen-Tan in light/medium twice but I already know I love it.

I am really pale skinned so I had to go with light / medium, I was really just expecting a subtle glow as it is branded as a 'daily tanner' but I was amazed when I woke up the next morning with a golden tan. You could definitely notice a difference but not drastic, which is what I wanted. If you were to use this a few times a week you will definitely build up a nice deep tan.
This smells really nice when you put it on, it has a sweet vanilla scent to it and it doesn't have too bad of a smell once it has developed (there is still a fake tan smell but it's not strong - there is no such thing as a fake tan with no scent at all).

The only down side I would say about this is the white colour consistency as once you have buffed it in you can't see where you have applied it. I haven't fake tanned for a while so am not as confident doing it as I used to be. It is also quite expensive at £25 but it does seem like I will get a lot of use out of it.

Let me know if there are any fake tans you recommend ?

CND Shellac Nails (inc How To)

Hey Everyone,
I thought I would paint my nails a brighter colour as I've been wearing pinks and nudes for a while now so as it's nearing December I thought I would go for Red!

I went for CND 'Hollywood' it's not too bright and it has a lovely subtle shimmer through it.

I do my own shellac nails as it is far too costly to get it done at a salon and it is so easy to do yourself. It is exactly the same as painting your nails with any other polish except you are curing it under a UV lamp.

It is not expensive either, this is all you need:

UV Nail Lamp, 36 Watt with 120 second timer - I bought mine off ebay for £14
Base Coat & Top Coat Gel Polish
Any Colours of Gel polish of your choice
Acetone for removing and taking off the sticky layer upon finishing
Nail File / Cuticle pusher and clipper

1)Prepare nails, filing them to desired size / shape
2)remove cuticles - you can buy a cuticle pusher and clipper set for cheap. This is important as if you start putting polish over cuticles this will make the polish lift and peel off
3) Wipe your nails with acetone to remove any dirt etc..
4) Apply a thin layer of base coat and cure under the lamp for 30 seconds
5) Apply your choice of colour and cure for 2 minutes - repeat as necessary (I usually do 2 or 3 coats)
6) Apply Top Coat and cure for 2 minutes
7) Wipe your nails with acetone, this will remove the sticky layer and add the shine (don't worry, the polish will not come off! Remember to just wipe it over the nails and not soak it in)

It is very simple, may be a bit more time consuming but there is no waiting around for your nails to dry.

CND will cost around £15 a bottle but bluesky are just as good I feel, I get mine off Ebay for around £5. The only difference I notice is with some of the colours I do need to apply 3 coats to get a good even colour whereas with CND you may only need 1 or 2 coats.

Hope this gives some advice to anyone thinking about DIY shellac.

My First Blog: Teeth Whitening

Hi Everyone,

This is my very first blog, I am soo nervous eeek!

I wanted to share my views on Polanight teeth whitening -!

The process is so fast and so easy to do. You purchase a starter kit where you will be sent some moulds - if you have ever had braces it is the exact same thing getting teeth impressions (except you do it yourself). The instructions are so clear on what to do, although be careful taking the moulds out of your mouth - your teeth will stick to it and takes a little bit tugging to get it out!

Once you have completed your moulds you then send them off to the lab (all sealed bags / envelopes come with the moulds). They then do their magic by creating a permanent mouth shield which fits like a glove to your teeth. It took around 7-10 days for mine to arrive.

Once you have this you can then start to whiten your teeth with the gel you have purchased. They come in 3 different strengths; 10%, 16% & 22% Carbamide Peroxide. The higher the % the more your teeth will whiten. If you are new to teeth whitening I recommend using a lower % first, I was brand new to whitening and went straight to the 22% and your teeth are extremely sensitive for a few days. I used this for around 5 days and my teeth dramatically changed.

This is the exact same stuff the dentists use, my mum got hers done at the dentist and it cost her around £300. The dentist then told my mum after it was done about this website and this is where they purchase their goods from. I got my kit and 4 tubes of teeth whitening for £80 and it is the exact same stuff.

Check it out and let me know how you get on:
