December Favourites!

Hello Lovelies,
This is my very first favourites post and I'm super excited to share with you what I have been loving throughout December.
I have been using so many Lush products throughout December I found it difficult to wittle it down to just 3! As I live in Scotland it is sooo cold here just now which is why I have been using so many wintery skin care products :)

Lush Hot Toddy Shower Gel - This just smells amazing and has such a festive scent, I have been reaching for this over my other products throughout Dec. It has a little shimmer through it which I love!

BareMinerals Prime Time - I just love this primer! The one I have been using is for oily skin, I don't usually suffer oily skin but for some reason throughout the winter months it has been going oily towards the end of the day, but not anymore with this little gem. It really does work and keeps your make up fresh for hours on end. You can see my review on it here

Lush Santa's Lip Scrub - OMG, if you haven't used this you have never lived haha! This is sooo good and perfect for winter when your lips are dry. It has a cola taste to it which is delicious and safe to lick off, as is all their other lip scrub range. I haven't stopped using this and don't intend too - until it runs out *sad face*

Revolution Eye Palette - I have been using this eye palette nearly every day. My favourite shades to use are the first 5 of the palette for an every day look and they are long lasting with eye primer. The glittery shades rub off fairly quickly without primer but for the price it is well worth it! I have done a review on this here

Lush Millionaire Moisturiser - This has been an actual life saver this month, this keeps my skin silky smooth and I have been finding my foundation is looking flawless since using this. It smells amazing too - quite a sweet scent. It is really thick and rich so I would only use this in the cold winter months.

Maybelline Lipstick - This is in shade 630 velvet beige and is a darker nude shade, great for every day wear which has been my go to look throughout this month - love love love. Keep an eye out for my Maybelline lipstick review coming soon which will include more shades.
Have you used any of these products? What are your December Favourites, leave links below - I love reading them and gives me great ideas on what to purchase next.

Soap & Glory Gift Set

Hope you all had a great Christmas, got spoilt and ate too much :)
I got sooo much skincare products, some which I have never tried before so I am excited to use them. I have however used a lot of Soap & Glory products so thought I would show you all this cute little gift set - the wash bag it comes in is adorable, I love the little bow on the zip.
The contents are all miniature products including:
Clean on Me
The Righteous Butter
Loofah Sponge
Heel Genius
Glad Hair Day
The Scrub of Your Life
Hand Food

The only product I have never used is the Glad Hair Day shampoo - I'm sure I will love it as all their other products are so good and smell amazing.
I'm glad I got the miniature set as I can use it for travelling and will be keeping hand food in my bag with me :)

What skincare / beauty sets did you get for Christmas?

L'Oreal Color Riche Lipstick Review

Hello lovlies,

I recently bought some L'Oreal Color Riche lipsticks after hearing so many reviews. I had never used or purchased L'Oreal lipsticks before as I have always been a Mac or Maybelline girl. I have to say I am completely obsessed with these at the moment, they apply really smoothly and have good pigmentation and the packaging feels and looks expensive and luxurious.

I bought the following shades - (which actually look really similar in the photographs but they are different once applied)

380 Luminous Coral
256 Blush Fever
371 Pink Passion
I think they cost me around £7 each but it was 3 for 2 in boots so I got one free :)

I definitely recommend these lipsticks and they have a wide range of shades available too.
What's your favourite brand of lipstick to use?

bareMinerals Prime Time Review

RRP: £21.00

Hey Everyone,
I wanted to keep my blog fairly festive throughout December but I just can't wait until after the New Year to blog about this!

I have been using the bareMinerals Prime Time primer in Oil Control for the past 3 weeks now and this has made such a difference!
I don't usually suffer from oily skin but for the past month or so it had been getting that way (I have no idea how that could of happened). Anyway, I usually use the bareMinerals neutralising primer which I love so I thought I would go into my local Boots to pick up the oil control one to see if that would help. I am absolutely amazed - I have zero oil when I use this as it just soaks it up, but not enough so your foundation goes patchy or dries your skin out. It is just the perfect balance, it has a runny / watery consistency when applying to the skin and dries really quickly.
This would be a really good primer to use for Christmas or New Year parties as it will keep your make up fresh and you can dance as much as you want! :D
Let me know what your favourite primer is?

My Christmas Wish List

Hey Everyone,
I can not believe it is December! I still have a lot of presents to buy & choose my wrapping paper (how exciting)!
I always find it so hard to come up with ideas on what to buy everyone as the answer is always "I don't need anything". I always have an idea of what I would like though hehe :) I have listed my top 5 below:

1) Zoella's Book
2) Real Techniques brushes
3) PJs - cos that's just tradition!
4) Yankee Candle
5) Urban Decay Naked 3 palette
I have only listed my top 5 as the main thing I wanted was a new camera, which I got as an early xmas present eeek! Now I just need more lenses but hopefully I can pick something up in the January sales.
Link your wish lists in the comments below - I would love to read them!

Xen-Tan Light/Medium Review

Hey Everyone,
I have only used this Xen-Tan in light/medium twice but I already know I love it.

I am really pale skinned so I had to go with light / medium, I was really just expecting a subtle glow as it is branded as a 'daily tanner' but I was amazed when I woke up the next morning with a golden tan. You could definitely notice a difference but not drastic, which is what I wanted. If you were to use this a few times a week you will definitely build up a nice deep tan.
This smells really nice when you put it on, it has a sweet vanilla scent to it and it doesn't have too bad of a smell once it has developed (there is still a fake tan smell but it's not strong - there is no such thing as a fake tan with no scent at all).

The only down side I would say about this is the white colour consistency as once you have buffed it in you can't see where you have applied it. I haven't fake tanned for a while so am not as confident doing it as I used to be. It is also quite expensive at £25 but it does seem like I will get a lot of use out of it.

Let me know if there are any fake tans you recommend ?

CND Shellac Nails (inc How To)

Hey Everyone,
I thought I would paint my nails a brighter colour as I've been wearing pinks and nudes for a while now so as it's nearing December I thought I would go for Red!

I went for CND 'Hollywood' it's not too bright and it has a lovely subtle shimmer through it.

I do my own shellac nails as it is far too costly to get it done at a salon and it is so easy to do yourself. It is exactly the same as painting your nails with any other polish except you are curing it under a UV lamp.

It is not expensive either, this is all you need:

UV Nail Lamp, 36 Watt with 120 second timer - I bought mine off ebay for £14
Base Coat & Top Coat Gel Polish
Any Colours of Gel polish of your choice
Acetone for removing and taking off the sticky layer upon finishing
Nail File / Cuticle pusher and clipper

1)Prepare nails, filing them to desired size / shape
2)remove cuticles - you can buy a cuticle pusher and clipper set for cheap. This is important as if you start putting polish over cuticles this will make the polish lift and peel off
3) Wipe your nails with acetone to remove any dirt etc..
4) Apply a thin layer of base coat and cure under the lamp for 30 seconds
5) Apply your choice of colour and cure for 2 minutes - repeat as necessary (I usually do 2 or 3 coats)
6) Apply Top Coat and cure for 2 minutes
7) Wipe your nails with acetone, this will remove the sticky layer and add the shine (don't worry, the polish will not come off! Remember to just wipe it over the nails and not soak it in)

It is very simple, may be a bit more time consuming but there is no waiting around for your nails to dry.

CND will cost around £15 a bottle but bluesky are just as good I feel, I get mine off Ebay for around £5. The only difference I notice is with some of the colours I do need to apply 3 coats to get a good even colour whereas with CND you may only need 1 or 2 coats.

Hope this gives some advice to anyone thinking about DIY shellac.

My First Blog: Teeth Whitening

Hi Everyone,

This is my very first blog, I am soo nervous eeek!

I wanted to share my views on Polanight teeth whitening -!

The process is so fast and so easy to do. You purchase a starter kit where you will be sent some moulds - if you have ever had braces it is the exact same thing getting teeth impressions (except you do it yourself). The instructions are so clear on what to do, although be careful taking the moulds out of your mouth - your teeth will stick to it and takes a little bit tugging to get it out!

Once you have completed your moulds you then send them off to the lab (all sealed bags / envelopes come with the moulds). They then do their magic by creating a permanent mouth shield which fits like a glove to your teeth. It took around 7-10 days for mine to arrive.

Once you have this you can then start to whiten your teeth with the gel you have purchased. They come in 3 different strengths; 10%, 16% & 22% Carbamide Peroxide. The higher the % the more your teeth will whiten. If you are new to teeth whitening I recommend using a lower % first, I was brand new to whitening and went straight to the 22% and your teeth are extremely sensitive for a few days. I used this for around 5 days and my teeth dramatically changed.

This is the exact same stuff the dentists use, my mum got hers done at the dentist and it cost her around £300. The dentist then told my mum after it was done about this website and this is where they purchase their goods from. I got my kit and 4 tubes of teeth whitening for £80 and it is the exact same stuff.

Check it out and let me know how you get on:

* I will try to find before and after pictures *
